This short story comprehension task is suitable for students between Years 3 and 4 and EAL. After reading the short story, students complete a range of comprehension tasks. They will reflect on how well they have:

o   understood what the story is about

o   located the correct passage that tells me what Timmy learned

o   given a reason for the name they would give the dog

o   made a connection to the text

o   considered a reading goal
