Protecting Landscapes Lake Mungo Test
This test focuses on identifying students’ ability to recognise groups that value and connect with a significant Australian landscape, threats that affect the landscape, and ways groups minimise these threats. This test is suited to students with a range of abilities between Years 6 and 9 (Y10 NZ).
Students are required to write two TEEEL paragraphs on a landscape. The TEEEL paragraphs will cover:
✔ Values – A group or groups who value a landscape and their Connections – Spiritual, Cultural, Economic and Aesthetic - with the landscape.
✔ Threats – Geomorphological and human threats to the landscape and Protections – Methods the groups use to protect and minimise threats to the landscape.
This test includes a marking matrix and two resource sheets that are woven into the test. Answer templates and sentence stem examples have been used to deliver a test that is accessible to differentiated learners.
