Biomechanics and Body Movement Bundle _ editable
This PE bundle focuses on teaching students about the principles of biomechanics and the impact they have on athlete's performance. The bundle contains:
Biomechanics and Body Movement full lesson PowerPoint
Pair/ 3's Research Task on Biomechanics and Body Movement
Marking Rubric for the Research Task on Biomechanics and Body Movement (in high and low colour options)
For the research task, students will choose and research a sport that requires athletes to be stable, balanced, and control their centre of gravity in three different movements, and complete further tasks such as actively modelling these moves, SCOT analysing the movements, and evaluating the pros and cons of a form of Biomechanical Testing.
Learning Intention
I am learning to understand what the principles of biomechanics are and how they impact athletes’ performance.
Success Criteria
I can…
•Describe biomechanical concepts
•Explain how principles of biomechanics apply to athletes’ physical movements
•Analyse physical movements of athletes
•Evaluate the efficacy of techniques based on principles of biomechanics
•Demonstrate physical movements and techniques based on principles of biomechanics
The research task and rubric are provided in both pdf and word format for easy modification if required.
